Multi-day tours from Marrakech
A multi-day tour is the only way to reach the big dunes. Merzouga is around 560 km from Marrakech: a long drive, but it crosses the Tichka pass, Aït Ben Haddou, the Dades gorges and the valley of roses.
Two days are enough for Zagora and the Draa valley. For the Erg Chebbi sand dunes allow three days minimum, and four if you would rather not string long legs together.
We also build private tours with a dedicated driver and vehicle, at your own pace and on your dates.

Frequently asked questions
Zagora or Merzouga?
Merzouga has the real sand dunes and is worth the extra driving. Zagora works if you only have two days.
Are the desert camps comfortable?
The camps offered have beds, blankets and shared washrooms. Camps with a private bathroom are available at a supplement.
Are tours shared or private?
Both exist. A shared group is cheaper; private lets you choose your timings and stops.
What should I pack?
Warm clothes for the night even in summer, good shoes, sun cream and your passport for the accommodation.
Is the drive to Merzouga tiring?
It is around 560 km from Marrakech, split over two days on the way out. The road crosses the Tichka pass, Aït Ben Haddou and the Dades gorges, with regular stops. Taking four days instead of three makes the legs considerably more comfortable.
